October 6, 2015  — Former Commissioner of Higher Education Richard Freeland and former Commissioner of Education Robert Antonucci, who retired as Fitchburg State University president this year,  spoke out this week at an event hosted by the Boston Foundation on college readiness. Citing high remediation rates, the two underscored the importance of aligned assessments, “I think it’s time for us to talk less about how great we are and more about how many students are failing,” Freeland said. “And that’s what PARCC is about.” View a recording or read more from the Lowell Sun or the Bay State Banner.
