April 6, 2016 — Citing the 46 percent of first-time, full-time New Jersey students enrolled in public community colleges and four-year colleges and universities who need to take at least one remedial course, New Jersey Council of County Colleges President Lawrence Nespoli argues for the continued importance of PARCC assessments in the state. PARCC score reports have been used as a valuable placement tool for  College Readiness Now, a program in which community colleges work with high schools to improve the college readiness of students, and New Jersey’s community colleges plan to use them as one of several placement tools.
